As a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with Northern Health, you will coordinate psychiatric nursing services for patients. The position includes nursing assessments, crisis intervention, patient and family education, and evidence-based clinical leadership. You will collaborate within an interprofessional care team and may support Electroconvulsive Therapy treatment before, during, and after care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete initial and ongoing mental health assessments
- Provide psychiatric nursing care and crisis intervention
- Coordinate services and delegate tasks to support staff
- Educate patients and families about health care
- Collaborate with interprofessional health care providers
Requirements:
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
- Register with BCCNM as a practicing RN or RPN
- Bring two years of recent mental health experience
- Understand substance use treatment and psychopharmacology
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams
