NOIC ACADEMY is seeking a dedicated and passionate Biology/ Chemistry Teacher to join our high school faculty.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in Biology and/or Chemistry to students in Grades 11&12, preparing students for academic success and scientific literacy, while fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver effective biology and/or chemistry lessons in alignment with the Ontario curriculum standards
- Incorporate laboratory activities, experiments, and inquiry-based learning to support hands‑on understanding.
- Assess, evaluate, and report on student progress using a variety of assessment tools.
- Maintain classroom discipline and a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance student learning and collaboration
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, mentor‑teacher conferences, and professional development.
- Collaborate with the Admission Department to assign new students to mentors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
- Teacher Certification in Ontario (OCT) and experience teaching in an IB programme is considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching biology and or chemistry at the high school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of biology and chemistry curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to student success and lifelong learning.
