Perform biochemistry and hematology testing at Carbonear General Hospital as a Laboratory Technologist I in the Eastern Rural Zone. Work rotating shifts across core laboratory services.
This temporary, full-time Laboratory Technologist I assignment runs until October 31, 2027, with possible extension. Rotate through Biochemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, and Microbiology when required. Apply established procedures while supporting patient safety initiatives through NL Health Services Policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing
- Complete phlebotomy when required
- Run Quality Control and maintain documentation
- Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments
- Support patient safety initiatives through established policies
Requirements:
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or degree in Medical Laboratory Science
- Graduation from a recognized accredited program
- Successful national examination completion in applicable practice fields
- Current continuing registration with NL Council of Health Professionals
- Satisfactory work performance and refresher course availability
