Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of Teacher – Long Term Occasional (LTO) at Holy Cross, 1.0 FTE, Grade 7/8 Early French Immersion (Mornings - 0.5 FTE EFI, Afternoons - 0.5 FTE English). Effective immediately, until approx. January 13, 2027, but not to extend beyond June 30, 2027.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division
- French as a Second Language Part 1
Preferred Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
- Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
- Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
- Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
- Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
- Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
- Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
- Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset
