The Prescript Clerk assists patients with medication requirements and directs them toward relevant healthcare services. This healthcare administration work includes repeat prescription requests, patient appointments, electronic correspondence, forms, and record control. The post-holder communicates relevant information to healthcare professionals and external organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to patient medication requirements safely and efficiently
- Process requests in person, by telephone, and electronically
- Arrange relevant appointments through the computerised system
- Process emails, patient detail changes, EPS nominations, and forms
- Check and complete administrative tasks as appropriate
Requirements:
- Courteous, efficient, and effective communication with patients
- Ability to support patients, carers, and guardians appropriately
- Ability to verify current medication authorisations
- Ability to follow GDPR and DPA requirements
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records
