Reporting to the Controller and CFO, the Payroll and Accounting Coordinator supports payroll processing and daily accounting activities. The position requires Canadian payroll experience, strong organization, confidential information handling, and attention to detail. New Star Capital operates diverse businesses from its South Edmonton head office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process biweekly payroll across multiple locations and businesses
- Maintain employee records, deductions, benefits, and tax information
- Review timesheets, resolve discrepancies, and support bioclock troubleshooting
- Post payroll journals, accruals, and reports in Acumatica
- Complete reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts payable support
Requirements:
- Two or more years payroll or accounting administration experience
- Canadian payroll processing experience and payroll legislation knowledge
- Payroll Compliance Professional designation or progress toward designation
- Strong Microsoft Excel, data-entry, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information discreetly
