Shape SATCOM terminal architecture in Ottawa’s hybrid environment using embedded software, cybersecurity, and systems engineering expertise. Lead designs supporting military and government communications. This Software Architect leads architecture for military user terminal products and programs. The position requires distributed, embedded, and real-time software experience, plus knowledge of modem technologies, networking, and IP communications. It provides technical leadership across programs without direct reports. Key Responsibilities:
Define and maintain architectures for military user terminal products Lead architectural trade studies and technology evaluations Derive software architectures from system requirements with Systems Engineering Define interfaces among software, networks, modems, and external systems Guide implementation, reviews, integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer discipline Ten-plus years of software engineering experience Architecture experience in SATCOM, defense, aerospace, or telecommunications Programming experience with C, C++, and Python Eligibility to work in Canada and obtain Canadian CGP clearance Apply your architecture leadership, embedded systems knowledge, and SATCOM expertise to military user terminal programs in Ottawa.
