Design coherent optical transceivers using PIC, DSP, and analog ASIC technologies while integrating digital and optical systems. Collaborate across engineering teams. This role focuses on advanced transceiver design, development, characterization, and optimization. You will work with early-stage PIC, DSP, and analog ASIC hardware. The position combines digital-optical integration, calibration methodologies, control algorithms, and system-level performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform digital-optical integration of coherent optical transceivers
- Develop calibration and control algorithms
- Characterize SNR, OSNR tolerance, sensitivity, and related metrics
- Validate analog, control, optical, and DSP sub-components
- Analyze data and identify system performance improvements
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related discipline
- Experience with optical communications, photonics, electronics, or systems engineering
- Understanding of coherent systems, QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM
- Hands-on optical communication hardware experience
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
