Operate municipal parks and facilities in Strathroy-Caradoc, using refrigeration, ice surface, pool, and equipment maintenance skills. This temporary full-time position is unionized.
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc seeks a Parks and Facilities Operator Class 1 or 2. The work covers athletic fields, outdoor sports facilities, play structures, arenas, pools, and related equipment. You will support public safety, customer service, facility records, and part-time attendant supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, inspect, and maintain refrigeration plants and ice surfaces
- Maintain pools, splash pads, playgrounds, sports fields, and equipment
- Perform recreational facility maintenance and custodial duties
- Supervise part-time attendants during evening and weekend shifts
- Complete records, reports, payments, and facility booking documentation
Requirements:
- Minimum OSSD or equivalent completed
- Preferred two years' parks and facility maintenance operation experience
- Valid Class G Ontario driver's licence and satisfactory abstract
- Occupational Health and Safety Act competency
- ORFA Certified Ice Technician designation required for Class 1
