Investigate by-law complaints and conduct inspections as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer I with the Municipality of Clarington in Bowmanville, Ontario.
This position enforces municipal by-laws and applicable Provincial legislation through education, voluntary compliance, and enforcement action. You will focus on parking enforcement, animal services, property maintenance matters, and routine by-law activities. The work includes public service, documentation, evidence gathering, and court support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate parking, animal services, and property maintenance complaints
- Issue Parking Infraction Notices and Provincial Offence Notices
- Conduct inspections, gather evidence, and manage enforcement files
- Handle and transport domestic animals and wildlife safely
- Prepare correspondence and attend court proceedings when required
Requirements:
- Two-year college diploma in a related discipline
- One to three years of enforcement or investigative experience
- Knowledge of municipal by-laws and applicable legislation
- Strong conflict resolution, communication, and report writing skills
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and criminal record check
