Operate ice resurfacing equipment and maintain arena spaces for the City of Brantford in Southern Ontario. Scheduled work includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Arena Operations, the Rink Operator maintains ice surfaces, arena areas, and facility grounds.
The position supports public use through safe equipment operation, building maintenance, customer service, and coordinated service delivery.
Daily work also includes records, room setups, and outdoor upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain ice surfaces and arena areas for public use
- Operate ice resurfacers and rink equipment safely
- Repair and clean arena glass as needed
- Set up meeting rooms and gymnasiums according to bookings
- Maintain grounds through seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks
Requirements
- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Experience operating ice resurfacers and ice edgers
- Working knowledge of power and landscaping equipment
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence in good standing
- Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification
