As a Funeral Director's Assistant at The Simple Alternative Mississauga, you will support Funeral Directors and families throughout visitations, services, burials, cremations, and receptions. The work includes preparing rooms, transporting flowers and caskets, maintaining facilities, and transferring human remains. You will verify identification and documentation while following legal and company standards. The position requires professionalism, sensitivity, accuracy, and respect for diverse clients and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support visitations, funeral services, burials, cremations, and receptions
- Prepare visitation rooms with furniture, flowers, and memorabilia
- Transfer human remains safely from GTA locations
- Verify identification against required death documentation
- Maintain facilities, vehicles, supplies, and service areas
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent training and experience
- At least one year of similar previous experience
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence and clean driving record
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry items safely
