Lead Java Full Stack – Hybrid in Montréal

We’re seeking someone to join our team as Lead Java Full Stack to drive the design, development, and evolution of strategic risk management technology solutions that support regulatory compliance, enterprise risk governance, and critical business decision-making across the Firm. In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Lead Software Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain a suite of Risk Management applications in an Agile/DevOps environment.
• Partner with business analysts and end users to define system and integration requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Develop scalable backend solutions using Core Java, Spring, and Spark technologies.
• Build and support frontend capabilities using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Implement and support RESTful services and service-oriented architectures to enable application integration.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, deployment activities, and production support to ensure application stability.
• Collaborate with global development teams, including offshore partners, to deliver project objectives and maintain high-quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through automated testing practices, design patterns, and DevGen AI-enabled development tools.

What you'll bring to the role:

• At least 7 years' relevant experience in designing and developing Core Java/Spring/spark-based backend applications.
• At least 2+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience with Snowflake data platform and associated data engineering practices.
• Experience developing RESTful web services and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience utilizing standard software design patterns and modern development best practices.
• Experience in automated testing using BDD and/or TDD methodologies.
• Ability to apply strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec. We offer a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and attendance in the office. Knowledge of French and English is required.
