Support Cardiovascular Technology students and faculty at IAHS fully on-site, using advanced ECG interpretation and clinical lab expertise. This regular part-time position offers up to 24 hours weekly.
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Allied Health, the Technician Support Specialist supports CVT lab courses and related activities. The position assists demonstrations, student evaluations, simulations, equipment readiness, and laboratory safety. It also helps learners develop goals and strategies with faculty for success in curriculum-based lab courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty with demonstrating cardiovascular technology skills and techniques
- Supervise students during lab exercises and maintain safety
- Facilitate simulations, cases, role-playing, and directed learning activities
- Evaluate students using predetermined marking schemes and maintain records
- Monitor supplies, equipment, software, setup, cleaning, and disposal
Requirements:
- Two-year diploma in Cardiovascular Technology
- Registered Cardiology Technologist designation, CSCT certified in Canada
- Advanced ECG Interpretation and cardiology technologist work experience
- Experience with Holter software, including Northeast Monitoring and Norav
- Experience with CASE Exercise Stress Testing equipment
