About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Data Analyst I (P5) to be the technical anchor of our analytics team — the person who raises the bar on how we analyze, visualize, monitor, and understand our users, and whom other analysts bring their hardest problems to. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on craft and capability. You’ll set the standard for analytical quality and data storytelling, build the user segments that shape how we tailor the product, and multiply the whole team’s output through review, standards, and mentorship. Your impact is measured less by the analyses you personally ship and more by how much sharper the entire team becomes because you’re on it.
What You’ll Do
- Raise the bar on data analysis across the team — set shared standards for methods, definitions, and QA, and act as the reviewer others bring their work to.
- Elevate visualization, dashboarding, and monitoring — build reusable, well-designed dashboards and automated alerting so metric shifts and data-quality issues are caught early, not discovered late.
- Lead deep user analysis and build net-new user segments the business can track, experiment on, and tailor the experience around.
- Marry business insights to financial goals — connect analysis and user insight to the company’s revenue, cost, and growth targets, so the team’s work moves the numbers that matter most.
- Partner with the experimentation owner to raise experimentation standards and bring forward new methods and decision models.
- Standardize how analysis is done across the team — shared practices, reusable code, and a consistent bar for rigor.
- Mentor analysts and keep the team current on the latest techniques in the industry.
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced SQL for production-grade analytics and dashboard layers.
- Python for statistical analysis, automation, and reusable libraries.
- A track record of raising analytical quality and visualization/monitoring standards on a team — not just delivering your own work.
- Strong user and behavioral analysis, including building segments, and the ability to connect analytics to financial goals and business outcomes like revenue, retention, and growth.
- Solid experimentation fundamentals (frequentist and Bayesian, power, guardrails) and a collaborative approach to shared standards.
- Ability to turn complex work into clear, decision-grade narratives for senior stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring and teaching others.
- Bonus: machine learning (propensity/uplift, forecasting, causal methods) and analytics-grade data modeling.
What Success Looks Like
- Analysis quality, dashboards, and monitoring across the team are visibly better because of you.
- The user segments you build are in use and shaping product and commercial decisions.
- Analysts bring you their hardest problems for review — and leave sharper.
- Experimentation standards are stronger through your partnership.
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
- You raise the bar for everyone around you, not just your own output.
- You care about craft — clean analysis, clear visuals, trustworthy monitoring.
- You love turning behavioral data into segments and insight the business can act on.
- You teach generously and stay current on new techniques.
Why Join Us?
This is a rare chance to shape how an entire analytics team works — the quality of its analysis, the clarity of its dashboards, and the depth of its understanding of our users. If you’re the kind of analyst who makes everyone around you better, this role gives you the platform to do exactly that.
