Mikelle Search Group is partnering with a privately held, Calgary-based oil and gas exploration and production company to recruit a Manager, Financial Reporting.

Our client is a well-capitalized, growth-focused organization led by an experienced executive team with a strong track record in the energy sector.

Having worked together previously, the leadership team brings established relationships, a shared vision and a collaborative approach that has created a genuinely positive, close-knit culture.

The business has experienced significant growth through organic development and acquisitions, with ambitious plans for continued expansion.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll take ownership of the financial reporting function, including IFRS financial statements, technical accounting, acquisition-related reporting and the year-end audit.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting but is looking for greater ownership, exposure to senior leadership, and opportunities for professional growth as the business continues to expand.

What We're Looking For

  • CPA designation with strong technical IFRS expertise.
  • Ideally Big Four training, with the ability to independently research and prepare technical accounting memos.
  • Financial reporting experience in oil and gas, preferably within an upstream E&P environment.
  • A collaborative, curious and motivated individual who is excited about growing alongside the business.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

What really stands out is the leadership team and the culture they've built.

This is a smaller, entrepreneurial organization where you'll work directly with experienced industry leaders, have meaningful ownership of your work and play an important role in supporting the company's next phase of growth.

For someone looking to continue developing their technical expertise, grow into a broader leadership role, and work alongside an exceptional executive team, this is a fantastic opportunity!
