Our client in Toronto, ON is actively looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Manage daily banking and accounting operations.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare month-end financial reports and schedules.
- Perform monthly mortgage portfolio and investor reconciliations.
- Process payments, deposits, wires, and disbursements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
- Independently manage monthly mortgage payment processing.
- Prepare, reconcile, and remit mortgage payments to investors.
- Monitor and investigate missed payments, short payments, and account discrepancies.
- Process mortgage renewals, payouts, and discharges.
- Prepare mortgage discharge statements and supporting documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and payout deficiencies.
- Monitor delinquent mortgage accounts and collections activity.
- Contact borrowers regarding overdue mortgage payments.
- Negotiate payment arrangements within company guidelines.
- Maintain detailed records of collections activity and borrower communications.
- Escalate and resolve complex account issues as required.
- Prepare and coordinate FSRA Annual Information Return filings.
- Coordinate annual financial statement audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Coordinate annual tax slip preparation and filing.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, investor, and corporate reporting requirements.
