About the role
Our client is growing its data center delivery capability and looking for an experienced Senior MEP Project Manager to join the team in Edmonton, Alberta. You’ll own the delivery of mechanical, electrical and plumbing scopes on large-scale, mission-critical projects, from planning and procurement through to commissioning and handover. We’re open to candidates already in Edmonton and to those willing to relocate or travel.
What you’ll do:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of MEP scopes on data center and other mission-critical projects
- Manage project budgets, schedules, risks and change orders
- Coordinate design teams, engineers, trades, suppliers and subcontractors
- Oversee procurement and long-lead equipment such as generators, switchgear, UPS systems and chillers
- Review drawings, specifications and submittals to ensure quality and compliance
- Run site meetings and provide clear progress reporting to clients and senior leadership
- Lead testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Champion site safety, quality and regulatory compliance at all times
- Mentor project engineers, coordinators and site teams
What we’re looking for:
- Proven senior-level experience managing MEP projects, ideally in data centers or comparable mission-critical facilities
- Strong working knowledge of electrical distribution, mechanical cooling systems and plumbing or fire protection
- Track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Confident with contracts, cost control and subcontractor management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid understanding of health and safety practices
- Based in Edmonton, Alberta, or willing to relocate or travel
Nice to have:
- Experience with hyperscale or colocation builds
- Hands-on commissioning experience (Levels 1 to 5)
