Lead complex mass timber modeling and detailing with Cadwork or Revit at Mercer Mass Timber, supporting production across North America. The Senior DfMA Designer works within the VDC/Engineering group and reports to the Fabrication Design Lead. This role carries complex assemblies from 3D modeling through shop drawing review. Apply DfMA principles to CLT and Glulam fabrication while integrating production requirements. Key Responsibilities:
Lead 3D modeling and detailing of complex mass timber assemblies Guide designers in DfMA principles for CLT and Glulam Integrate factory capabilities and CNC requirements into workflows Review models, shop drawings, lists, and erection packages Maintain quality control checklists through production release Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years in timber modeling, detailing, and DfMA Expertise in mass timber, connections, and CNC code generation Advanced Cadwork, Revit, or similar BIM and CAD proficiency Understanding of North American codes and structural drawings Ability to mentor designers and collaborate cross-functionally Bring mass timber expertise, production-focused detailing, and DfMA leadership to Mercer Mass Timber’s fabrication design team.
