The Opportunity:
McKay Métis Contracting is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Electrician.
The Role:
The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems while providing ongoing support to the BET team.
Accountabilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
- Collaborate with the Bird Environmental Technician (BET) team to support operations and resolve electrical issues.
- Work with specialized systems, including Scully equipment, ensuring safe and compliant operation.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Document maintenance activities and recommend system improvements.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Requirementsand Competencies:
- Red Seal Endorsement is an asset or currently working towards completion.
- Mechanicallyinclinedregardingsmalldieselengines
- Proven experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical issues
- ProficiencyinEnglish,bothverballyandwritten
- Pre-employmenttestingwillberequired.
- CSTS'20, BSO,CSOor equivalent
- Mustbeabletoliftup-to50pounds,andphysicallyabletoperformallduties
- Must be flexibleand workeffectively ina fast-pacedenvironment
- Mustbedependableandreliable
Schedule:
- The shift for this position is 10 days, followed by 5 days offrotationworking 12-hour days.
