Design reinforced concrete and structural steel infrastructure as a P.Eng. in Burnaby, BC, initially onsite with potential for hybrid work. MatchBox Consulting Group seeks an experienced Structural Engineer for a 12-month contract supporting a major British Columbia utility provider. You will assess, design, rehabilitate, and support construction for critical electrical infrastructure. The work combines structural analysis, field assessments, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural assessments, analysis, design, and rehabilitation planning
- Develop reinforced concrete and structural steel engineering solutions
- Prepare calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and design documentation
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and construction quality reviews
- Provide construction staging, temporary works, and constructability support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- EGBC Professional Engineer registration and Permit to Practice
- Minimum four years of structural engineering experience in Canada
- Experience with structural assessment, design, rehabilitation, and construction support
- Proficiency with S-Frame, SAP2000, STAAD, or comparable software
