Lead financial risk oversight at Mastercard in Toronto, focusing on credit, settlement, counterparty, collateral, and liquidity risks. Support BVNK integration. As Manager, Financial Risk, you will provide Second Line expertise within Mastercard’s Digital Asset Risk & Compliance team. You will challenge First Line controls, monitor portfolio exposures, and help build financial risk governance for BVNK’s integration. The work covers digital assets, stablecoins, tokenized settlement, and banking partner exposures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Second Line oversight and challenge for BVNK financial risk exposures
- Review risk ratings, credit limits, portfolio metrics, and reporting
- Monitor concentrations, exposure trends, thresholds, and key risk indicators
- Escalate breaches, deteriorating exposures, control gaps, and emerging risks
- Prepare materials for senior management, committees, audit, and regulatory reviews
Requirements:
- Experience across credit, counterparty, settlement, liquidity, and collateral risk
- Experience in banking, payments, fintech, digital assets, or regulated financial services
- Knowledge of exposure measurement, stress testing, expected loss, and monitoring
- Understanding of Second Line oversight, independent challenge, and risk appetite
- Strong analytical judgment and clear communication skills
