Payroll Benefits Specialist Toronto

Manage full-cycle payroll and employee benefits for a government agency client in downtown Toronto, using ADP Workforce Now and HRIS expertise. This temporary assignment follows a hybrid schedule with three onsite and two remote days.

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist oversees payroll, pension, and benefits administration for more than 100 employees. Responsibilities include legislative compliance, reconciliations, year-end reporting, OMERS defined-benefit pension administration, budgeting, accruals, audits, and employee service. The initial term is approximately one to three months, with possible direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for over 100 employees
• Manage reconciliations, tax slips, deductions, leave calculations, and reporting
• Administer OMERS pension enrolments, adjustments, compliance, and reporting
• Oversee benefits enrolments, premiums, deductions, and reconciliations
• Support HRIS maintenance, audits, reporting, and process improvements

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent education and work experience
• Payroll Compliance Professional designation awarded or in view
• At least three years of similar payroll experience
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Office
• Defined-benefit pension administration and strong English communication skills
