The role involves leading one of our engineering teams as a Software Development Manager. You will manage 5 to 6 developers, own delivery and quality for your team's area, and ensure the team remains productive.
What You'll Do:
- Manage a team of 5 to 6 developers: own their delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities.
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to scope, plan, and deliver against a high bar for reliability.
- Coach and grow your developers: help them build skills, navigate hard problems, and plan their next career step.
- Set clear expectations and give ongoing feedback, so your team always knows where it stands.
- Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices across your team's systems.
- Give senior leadership visibility into your team's impact, progress, and risk.
Where we work: We prefer our teams to be located around our office hubs in Canada, including Montreal and Toronto.
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years of software development management experience, with a track record of leading teams that ship.
- A strong technical foundation: system design, computer science fundamentals, modern web technologies.
- Experience with technical design, problem-solving, and project management (Jira experience preferred).
- A genuine interest in hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.
- Excellent communication skills.
