MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald’s, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
In August 2026, MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions, the organization unifying Autodesk’s operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk’s strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design.
About the team: The Platform and Infrastructure team ensures that everything else is fast, reliable, and easy to develop. We are responsible for shared services that all product teams rely on (identity, research, communication, and our design system Pantry), tools that make our developers productive, as well as delivery and execution foundations that allow us to deploy with confidence.
Teams you could join:
- Product Foundations: identity, communication, research, and Pantry, including the Integrations Marketplace, Global Search, and the Pantry design system.
- Developer Productivity: internal tools and IDE extensions that accelerate each developer's work.
- Delivery, Execution, and Testing: CI/CD, site reliability (SRE), FedRAMP compliance, and quality assurance. This team is more infrastructure and reliability-oriented.
What you will work on:
- Define the technical direction of the shared services and components that other teams depend on.
- Design APIs, tools, and design system components that other engineers want to use, and promote their adoption across teams.
- Improve the speed, security, and reliability of our approach to designing, testing, and delivering software.
- Consider internal engineers as your clients: gather their feedback, measure adoption, and iterate.
The role:
- Lead the design and delivery of large and ambiguous projects from planning to production.
- Collaborate directly with product managers, designers, engineering leadership, and engineers who build from your work to be well-informed about your team's roadmap and influence those of adjacent teams.
- Assume the long-term technical health of a platform domain: reliability, performance, and the parts of the code that no one notices until they fail.
- Document architectural decisions and write technical proposals that others rely on.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers, and set the standard for code review in your team.
- Raise the bar on tools, testing, and delivery practices across multiple teams, not just your own.
Our core tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MySQL. Some teams use C# or Python. You do not need to master each of these elements to apply. You will join a team of 5 to 10 people and participate in the on-call rotation, which is part of the role. During your first 6 months, you will fully assume the technical direction of a domain or platform system.
Where we work: We do not impose a minimum office presence, but we prefer our teams to be located near our business centres. In Canada, this includes: Montreal and Toronto.
We are looking for:
- 10 years or more of professional experience in designing full-stack web or mobile products, with a proven track record of technical leadership that extends beyond a single team.
- A solid hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience in designing shared systems that have handled large-scale loads, and the judgment to know when not to build something.
- Experience in iterative, adaptive, and mobile-first development.
- A demonstrated track record in writing maintainable and testable code, which you are comfortable handing off to someone else.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: you can explain a technical trade-off to a designer, support manager, or executive as easily as to another developer.
- The ability to advance a problem before specifications are fully locked down, adjusting as your understanding evolves.
- Daily use of AI tools in your development process, not just occasional experimentation.
Assets: experience with GraphQL, React Native, or SQL databases. For this sector, we also value experience with search technologies, authentication and identity, design systems or component libraries, developer tools or IDE extensions, CI/CD, observability, or compliance programs like FedRAMP or SOC 2.
Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals, and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
Compensation and benefits: Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus, and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
Belonging: We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive.
