Magna IV Engineering/Power Solutions Group is looking for quality field service techs and engineers for exciting projects across North and South. Reporting to the Operations Manager - Engineering, the Senior Engineer will be accountable for executing projects through sound engineering expertise and project management, engaging in relationship building activities with clients, and identifying opportunities for Magna IV Engineering.
Responsibilities of a Senior Engineer include:
- Technical expertise and engineering knowledge of electrical power systems for utilities, heavy industrial customers, and some commercial applications.
- Project management and business development.
- Leadership and mentoring of team members as needed.
- Performance of electrical design, including low, medium, and high voltage electrical design, industrial control schemes, and technical report writing.
- Conducting electrical power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, etc.) and developing protective relay settings.
- Overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, managing project values from approximately $10,000 to $500,000.
- Maintaining strong communication and rapport with clients and ensuring safe work processes are followed.
- Identifying and seeking out leads with existing and potential clients.
- Managing the performance of project-assigned personnel through ongoing coaching and recognition.
Success of the Senior Engineer will be based on:
- Successful completion of engineering projects with minimal errors.
- Hours and budget management on projects.
- Ability to coach and mentor others while developing own skills.
Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of 5 years experience for Intermediate and 7 years experience for Senior Engineer.
- A bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
- Licenced (P.Eng.).
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, EMTP, CDGES or equivalent software tools.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and be able to travel (within Alberta).
