Job Description
The client is modernizing an on-premises enterprise solutionand needs the architect who will lead the migration of data, processing andapplication components to an Azure Databricks platform. The role is hands-on:current and target state analysis, data models, POCs, code reviews, developercoaching and effort estimation. The profile must meet two distinct layers: theframework agreement profile 3-4 requirements, focused on applicationarchitecture (SOA, commercial software integration, implementation strategies,executive documents), and the mandate-specific requirements, focused on modernanalytics architecture and big data. A data architect without documentedapplication work fails the first layer; an application architect withoutLakehouse or Spark fails the second. Level 2 security clearance from theministère de la Sécurité publique and Quebec-only remote work narrow the poolfurther.
Target candidate: an application architect with 15+ years inIT, including at least 7 in architecture, who has led at least two large-scalecloud migrations and designed a Lakehouse architecture on Databricks and Sparkfrom a SQL Server, SSIS or .NET legacy. They document, mandate by mandate,their system architecture, SOA and commercial software integration roles, andbring hands-on graph database and IaC experience.
Key Requirements:
- Modern analytics architecture design (Data Lake, Lakehouse,Data Warehouse, Medallion)
- Processing and analysis of very large data volumes (Bigdata)
- Mastery of Spark and distributed processing
- Mastery of pragmatic migration patterns
- Rapid proofs of concept (POC)
- Hybrid solutions (cloud and on-premises)
- At least 2 large-scale data or application cloud migrationmandates
- Knowledge of Databricks, Python and .NET
- Graph database design and operation (complex relationshipanalysis)
- Cloud deployment and configuration automation throughInfrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Professional skills: teamwork, autonomy, rigour, leadership,mobilization, tolerance for ambiguity and stress
