Our client is looking for a Mainframe Developer for a long-term project in Mississauga, ON (Onsite). Below is the detailed requirement.
- Associate should have mainframe experience of 5 or more years.
- Good knowledge of regular, IMS, and DB2 COBOL modules.
- Experience in writing JCLs, SORT, and ICETOOL.
- Experience in providing design decisions, solving production job failures, and implementing medium to major projects into production.
- Able to investigate emergency issues or production problems and provide updates to business and other stakeholders.
- Ability to write quick SORT/FOCUS/SAS to fix bad data during night batch jobs.
- Knowledge in creating and managing VSAM datasets and logic for reading/writing data from VSAM files.
- Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, Git, IBM Z developer, and Mural (optional).
- Knowledge of creating diagrams using tools like Visio/Lucidchart is an added advantage.
- Must be vocal and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Past experience in deployment activities and participation in implementation planning.
- Onsite associate must attend agile sessions with the product owner to refine detailed requirements, assess the impact of the application due to new requirements, and provide high-level estimates by sharing requirement details and discussing with the offshore team.
- Participate in regular meetings with offshore, prepare and share high-level solution designs, and present them to clients.
- Provide warranty support for changes deployed by monitoring daily and monthly batch flows.
- Work with offshore to strengthen existing knowledge transfer material or processes to make them more effective.
- Experience using GENAI tools (VS code, Git co-pilot, etc.) in day-to-day development activities.
