MFA Technologies is the newly launched AI and software development arm of the Lorval Capital family of companies. Our mandate is simple: build AI-leveraged tools, applications, and control systems that make these businesses faster, sharper, and more competitive.
As our AI Developer, you'll be one of the foundational members on the MFA Technologies team. You'll partner directly with operators and leadership across the Lorval businesses to capture real operational needs, then translate them into shipped applications using AI-assisted development workflows.
What You'll Do
- Partner with the Business — Sit down with operators, plant managers, and executives across the Lorval businesses to capture real operational requirements before writing code.
- Ship Internal Applications — Build internal business applications that replace manual processes and spreadsheets across the portfolio.
- Embed AI Where It Matters — Ship AI-powered features that automate judgment-intensive workflows.
- Build with AI Leverage — Use Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and the wider AI tooling stack as daily accelerators.
- Set the Foundations — Establish the foundational architecture, patterns, and reusable components for the broader AI-driven operating system vision.
- Define the Standards — Help define the development standards, practices, and tooling baseline for the growing MFA Technologies team.
- Make It Maintainable — Write code and documentation clear enough that the next developer can pick it up and run.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software development experience shipping production applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python and a modern web framework (React, Next.js, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered features with LLM APIs.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI-assisted development tools as part of your workflow.
- Solid working knowledge of relational databases, REST/GraphQL APIs, and system integration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- A bias toward shipping.
Bonus Points For
- Located in British Columbia — Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley preferred.
- Experience building internal business tools, enterprise applications, or ERP integrations.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or real estate business workflow.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft 365 / Graph ecosystem.
- A public portfolio demonstrating both AI-accelerated delivery and AI-powered application features.
