About the Role

The Senior Process Specialist provides technical leadership in process engineering, utilities systems, greenhouse gas management, and process safety to support the safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of LNG Canada's facilities.

This role is responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of LNG process units, utilities systems, storage and loading facilities, and associated systems. The position supports operations through process optimization, troubleshooting, simulation studies, plant modifications, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with process safety, environmental, and asset integrity requirements. Utilities scope includes water treatment and distribution, cooling water, wastewater treatment, potable water, condensate and refrigerant storage and handling, common utility systems, and their interfaces with ISBL process units.

The role plays a key part in trip recovery, restarts, and steady-state operations, leveraging process modeling, dynamic simulation, plant data analytics, and digital tools to improve operational performance, energy efficiency, production, and emissions performance. Emphasis is placed on greenhouse gas management, flare reduction, energy optimization, and development of data-driven solutions that enhance operational decision making.

The successful candidate will lead technical assessments, process safety studies, HAZOPs, risk evaluations, Management of Change (MOC) activities, and multidisciplinary troubleshooting efforts. The role also supports concept development, front-end engineering, brownfield projects, facility debottlenecking, and future expansion opportunities.

Working across Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Environmental, Asset Management and external stakeholders, the candidate will provide expert advice on DMR liquefaction technology, utilities systems, LNG operations, storage and loading facilities, while integrating process safety, operational excellence, and environmental performance into business decisions. The role is expected to connect process-unit demands with utility-system capability, identify cross-system constraints, and ensure that changes in one area do not compromise performance or integrity elsewhere.

The role will also support LNG Canada's future priorities, including ESAMP implementation, digitalization initiatives, AMS/SPFP development, emissions reduction programs, energy management improvements, and strategic asset growth projects. The position manages technical studies and external engineering support contracts and is expected to attain Technical Authority Level 3 (TA3) qualification within one year of appointment.
