Shape electro-optic link performance at Lightmatter through SerDes analysis, signal integrity investigation, and precise bench measurements. As a Photonics Engineer, you will lead verification and characterization for high-speed links across silicon and system programs. Your scope includes electrical, optical, and electro-optic channel modeling, measurement standards, and difficult link-performance investigations. You will work alongside EOE, analog, package, PCB, and SerDes teams. Key Responsibilities:
Investigate novel failure modes in high-speed hardware Correlate electrical, optical, and EO models with measurements Characterize BER, jitter, equalization, and channel impairments Support cross-functional silicon root-cause debugging Influence architecture tradeoffs using bench findings Requirements:
Deep knowledge of SerDes CTLE, FFE, DFE, and signal integrity Experience with S-parameters, crosstalk, and link budgets Hands-on leadership of challenging laboratory investigations Python or MATLAB automation frameworks used by engineering teams Track record mentoring engineers Bring advanced SerDes, signal integrity, modeling, and laboratory investigation skills to Lightmatter’s electro-optic systems.
