Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing assurance and accounting engagements, including the relevant tax filings, with dedicated resources, including paperless office infrastructure.
- Supervising and mentoring junior and senior staff on assurance and accounting engagements.
- Identifying and resolving assurance and accounting engagement issues.
- Developing and maintaining client relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Providing strategic insights and advice to clients to support their business goals.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of best practices within the team.
- Participating in business development activities to attract new clients and expand service offerings.
Qualifications:
- Extensive Accounting Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting, coupled with the successful completion of CPA exams.
- CPA Designation: Possession of a CPA designation, or active progress towards fulfilling the required hours for certification.
- Leadership Proficiency: Proven track record in leading audit and assurance engagements and managing teams.
- Client-Centric Approach: Demonstrated ability to provide value-added services to clients, with a strong commitment to their success.
- ASPE Knowledge: Proficiency in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) requirements is a must.
- Software Competence: Experience with Caseware and Taxprep software is highly desirable.
- Deadline-Oriented: Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including awareness of related deadlines, and the capability to consistently meet them.
- Confidentiality and Discretion: Sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive matters.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all tasks and responsibilities.
- Team Player: A strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Business Development: Experience in business development activities, with a focus on client acquisition and retention.
