Lead MV/HV power systems engineering for land-based projects across Halifax, Prince Edward Island, or the Greater Toronto Area. Apply technical leadership and commercial awareness. This senior Lead Electrical Engineer role supports power systems and microgrid development, design, and execution. You will develop technical solutions, support proposals, and coordinate with customers, utilities, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams. The position also contributes to AKA’s land-based power business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop system concepts, architectures, and preliminary electrical designs
- Review load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies
- Lead engineering from conceptual design through detailed engineering
- Coordinate customers, utilities, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Support commissioning, factory testing, and field implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Canadian P.Eng. designation or eligibility to obtain registration
- Significant MV/HV electrical power systems experience
- Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, protection, and distribution equipment
- Experience leading engineering projects and technical deliverables
- Bring MV/HV expertise, engineering leadership, and practical problem-solving to AKA’s land-based power and microgrid projects.
