Support functional restoration at Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering as an Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistant with exercise programming and patient mobility.
This temporary part-time, 11-month position serves the Healthy Aging program within Physio - LHAP. You will provide prescribed programs under Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist supervision, monitor patient responses, and support mobility function. Work includes days, evenings, and weekends across four- and eight-hour shifts, subject to change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide functional restoration and exercise programs under therapist prescription
- Monitor patient status and treatment responses
- Assist with activities of daily living treatment
- Set up classes, wheelchairs, equipment, and supplies
- Support patient mobility with therapists and mechanical aids
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational or Physiotherapy Assistant program
- Inpatient acute care experience
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients
- Effective communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
