Support cardiac testing and MRI services at Lake of the Woods District Hospital as an EKG Technician Assistant in a full-time permanent role. Day shifts are scheduled, with occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call work.
This position combines EKG technician duties with MRI technologist assistant responsibilities in Diagnostic Services. You will perform and document cardiac diagnostic tests, prepare and support patients, and assist technologists with MRI workflow. Work follows departmental protocols, demonstrated competence, and clinical supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and document cardiac diagnostic tests
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and provide care
- Assist technologists with MRI workflow and operations
- Maintain patient records and enter information accurately
- Refer findings requiring assessment to physicians or technologists
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Recognized EKG interpretation course or willingness to complete
- Current Basic Life Support certification and continuing competence
- Medical Terminology Certificate and MRI Safety Level 1 training
- Experience in healthcare or diagnostic services preferred
