Maintain heavy equipment in Thunder Bay through inspections and repairs. Apply hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills in an experienced full-time mechanic role.
Reporting to the Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintains, inspects, repairs, and adjusts heavy equipment components and systems. This full-time position is based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with a 14-14 work schedule. The work includes preventive maintenance, parts replacement, and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, air conditioning, and greasing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test heavy equipment on site
- Identify damaged or worn equipment parts
- Replace defective parts, components, and systems
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and air conditioning systems
Requirements:
- Vocational diploma or relevant field experience
- Experience as an experienced heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment repair tools
- Knowledge of equipment overhaul and maintenance requirements
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems
