This role is a new position to support our growing team. As an Area Sales Manager you will support the company’s five-year growth strategy within Ontario’s water and wastewater market. You will drive sustainable revenue growth by expanding market share, strengthening brand presence, and developing trusted relationships with municipalities, consulting engineers, contractors, and strategic partners. The role will promote KSB’s portfolio of clean water and wastewater pumps, package systems and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership, Territory Development and Account Growth: Develop and execute a territory sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives, revenue targets, and market priorities. Build and maintain senior-level relationships with municipalities, consulting engineers, contractors, channel partners, and strategic accounts. Grow market share through strategic account planning, competitive replacement opportunities, and value-based positioning of KSB solutions. Develop annual sales plans, forecasts, budgets, and account strategies, and take timely action to address performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Strategic Partnerships and Collaboration: Coordinate with channel partners and internal sales teams to align account strategies, share market intelligence, and deliver a consistent customer experience. Develop relationships with qualified motor, electrical, and service partners that support municipal customers and create opportunities for pumps, parts, system upgrades, and control solutions. Work closely with Engineering, Applications, Service, Operations, and other sales colleagues to deliver integrated solutions and meet customer commitments.
  • Sales, Specification Influence and Commercial Management: Monitor the project pipeline and proactively identify, qualify, and pursue tender, specification, retrofit, and capital project opportunities. Engage early with municipalities, engineers, contractors, and other decision-makers to influence specifications and position KSB solutions. Lead customer presentations, technical discussions, demonstrations, proposals, compliant tender responses, and opportunity reviews. Lead commercial negotiations, manage risk, protect margin, and secure mutually beneficial agreements in accordance with company policies and approval requirements.
  • Market Engagement, Brand Promotion and Reporting: Lead the promotion of KSB’s portfolio of clean water and wastewater pumps, turnkey lift stations, booster systems, controls, spare parts, service solutions, and aftermarket support. Represent KSB at relevant industry events, conferences, trade associations, and customer networking opportunities. Plan and deliver technical presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, and customer workshops that demonstrate KSB’s application expertise and lifecycle value. Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, forecast, contact, and next-step information in the CRM system, and report regularly on pipeline health, market conditions, and sales performance.
  • Travel: Regular travel throughout Ontario is required to meet customers, visit project sites, support partners, and attend industry events. Occasional additional travel may be required for training, exhibitions, meetings, or factory visits.

  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in the water and wastewater industry; experience with pumps, pumping systems, controls, or related equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles, develop strategic accounts, influence specifications, and work effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic sales planning, forecasting, territory management, communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Commercial judgment, financial awareness, analytical problem-solving, sound decision-making, organization, and CRM discipline.
