PURPOSE: KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation, is currently seeking an afternoon shift Manufacturing Associate III - Painter. The incumbent of this position is responsible for ensuring the preparation, priming, sanding, and painting of all types of materials within the plant.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
- Prepares, primes, sands, and paints all types of material
- Meets and maintains standards to provide quality-looking parts
- Mixes paints as necessary
- Helps to organize the material flow in the paint area and proper housekeeping standards
- Participate in defining and improving standard work
- Assist with training co-workers
- Support a respectful workplace
- Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma, GED or an equivalent
- Previous experience with painting in an industrial environment is an asset
- Able to identify different colours and ensure consistency
- Knowledge of and ability to mix paints is ideal
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to take instruction/direction from all Managers
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency at work and able to work under pressure
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Solid knowledge of painting trade equipment and tools is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow Standard Work is critical to the success of this role
- Proven ability to work independently
- Demonstrates a positive attitude with the ability to interact effectively with other departments
- Must have the ability to work flexible shifts and/or additional hours in order to meet customer and timeline requirements
- Engage in cross-training to maintain flexibility and adaptability to support resource planning
Wage Range: $28.28 - $30.20 per hour + 6% Afternoon shift premium when applicable
Shift: 4:00pm – 2:30am, Monday to Thursday
