About Mecka AI

Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI. We design and operate global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems. We work closely with frontier robotics teams to bridge real-world data, simulation, learning-based systems, and deployed hardware.

About the Role

You will build the operating capability that lets Mecka's capture fleet collect useful data day after day. As devices reach more people and locations, your work will turn individual deployments into a reliable network for gathering the experience robots need to learn.

You will own device readiness and recovery, then turn what you learn into diagnostics, automation, and procedures that scale. Bring practical Linux, scripting, and hardware troubleshooting skills, and the judgment to follow a problem from an operator's report to a verified fix across the fleet.

What You’ll Do

  • Own device issues from the first report through diagnosis, repair or recovery, and verification that the device is ready for use.
  • Troubleshoot cameras, connected peripherals, Linux software, storage, networking, and data transfers using logs, measurements, and physical testing.
  • Prepare and validate devices for deployment, including configuration, software updates, recording checks, and inspection after return.
  • Support operators and partners with clear technical guidance. Reproduce product defects and work with engineering teams to resolve them.
  • Write scripts and troubleshooting procedures that make common problems faster to diagnose and resolve.
  • Track recurring failures, verify corrective actions, and improve readiness checks using evidence from the fleet.

What You Bring

Must-have:

  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting physical devices that combine hardware and software, such as embedded systems, cameras, robotics, or connected equipment.
  • Practical Linux skills, including command-line tools, logs, processes, services, filesystems, and network diagnostics.
  • Python or shell scripting skills for diagnostics, device checks, and operational automation.
  • Ability to isolate faults through repeatable tests and distinguish hardware, software, configuration, and operator issues.
  • Experience validating device behavior after a repair, configuration change, or software update.
  • Clear communication with technical and nontechnical users, including useful reproduction steps, diagnostic evidence, and instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize issues by operational impact.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience supporting distributed device fleets, remote diagnostics, provisioning, or software updates.
  • Experience diagnosing recording problems such as dropped frames, corrupted files, synchronization errors, or incomplete transfers.
  • Experience with electronics troubleshooting, component replacement, or repair qualification.

About You

You are ambitious about what you build. You can point to results you personally delivered. You care deeply about your craft, pursue difficult questions, and learn quickly. You take initiative and own problems through to results. You work independently, make decisions, and bring others in when needed. You communicate honestly. You own mistakes, share credit, and help the people around you succeed.
