Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer in Calgary to develop safe, constructible designs for power facilities. Working within Kiewit’s multidisciplinary engineering group, you will support projects across power generation, renewables, and new technology. The position combines electrical layouts, schematics, calculations, equipment sizing, technical specifications, and construction coordination. Flexible work options are available, with occasional travel into the United States required. Key Responsibilities:
Apply engineering criteria to large power generation designs Prepare electrical calculations, layouts, and equipment selections Review designs for safety, environmental, and quality compliance Coordinate project deliverables with engineers and superintendents Recommend contracts after evaluating construction proposals Requirements:
CEAB-accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Three or more years’ relevant engineering experience Power generation or oil and gas background Introductory computer programming coursework completed Field construction or power plant startup experience is advantageous Build construction-driven electrical solutions through design coordination, technical specifications, and equipment sizing with Kiewit Power Engineering.
