Hospital admissions and registration work awaits at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, using Meditech and accurate patient documentation. This regular full-time role includes varied shifts.
As a Clerk III, you will support Admitting and Registration activities across inpatient, day surgery, outpatient, and Emergency Department settings. The work includes patient interviews, admissions processing, discharge and transfer functions, health card validation, and bed status records. You will also communicate with care coordination and nursing contacts regarding bed utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and interview patients during registration processes
- Complete inpatient pre-admission, admission, discharge, and transfer functions
- Register day surgery, outpatient, and Emergency Department patients
- Maintain current bed status records and coordinate utilization information
- Obtain required signatures and handle sensitive patient situations
Requirements:
- Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent required
- Hospital information system word processing experience required
- At least two specified Meditech Modules used previously
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
- Medical terminology, accurate spelling, and confidentiality required
