We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to lead the direction and delivery of digital content and commerce capabilities in Mississauga, Ontario. This Long-term Contract opportunity is suited to someone who can translate business priorities into a well-managed product backlog, guide cross-functional teams, and keep work moving from concept to release. The successful candidate will bring strong product judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to balance stakeholder needs while improving content operations and customer-facing ecommerce experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full product backlog for content platform capabilities, including templates, reusable components, content structures, publishing processes, and digital commerce experiences such as campaign pages and promotional destinations.
  • Set priorities for upcoming work by aligning backlog decisions with ecommerce objectives, business value, delivery readiness, and roadmap commitments.
  • Convert business needs into clear user stories, detailed acceptance criteria, and properly scoped development items so teams can execute efficiently.
  • Serve as the primary owner for daily product decisions within the assigned platform domain, resolving issues quickly and maintaining progress across active initiatives.
  • Work closely with developers, designers, marketers, merchandisers, and operational partners to coordinate dependencies, remove blockers, and keep stakeholders aligned on timelines and outcomes.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for the Magnolia platform, providing direction on content modelling, template design, component usage, and scalable publishing practices.
  • Partner with other Product Owners on shared features and integrations to ensure connected delivery across the broader ecommerce environment while maintaining clear ownership boundaries.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, product reviews, and demonstrations to support transparency, accountability, and steady delivery momentum.
  • Track platform effectiveness, content delivery speed, engagement trends, and conversion signals, then use findings to refine priorities and improve user experience outcomes.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or Product Manager supporting digital platforms, web content systems, or ecommerce products.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Agile Scrum practices, backlog management, sprint planning, and working with cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Strong ability to write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and make informed prioritization decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using Atlassian Jira or similar tools for backlog administration, delivery tracking, and issue management.
  • Solid understanding of content management platforms, cloud-based technologies, and digital customer experience delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across business and technical teams, including marketing, merchandising, technology, and operations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use performance data, feedback, and business context to drive continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with digital commerce, personalization, customer engagement, and related online sales initiatives is considered an asset.
