We are looking for a Finance Transformation Consultant to join our team in Gormley, Ontario on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will lead financial performance oversight across costing, revenue, billing, and core accounting activities, while partnering closely with sales and operations to improve visibility and protect profitability. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, hands-on financial leadership, and the ability to turn operational data into clear reporting and practical business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance costing frameworks for specialized transportation, rigging, and project-based work to support accurate estimating and margin control.
  • Monitor job performance against approved labour, equipment, and budget assumptions, and escalate emerging scope or cost overruns before they affect profitability.
  • Administer the change order workflow by ensuring out-of-scope work is validated, priced appropriately, and submitted for commercial approval before further costs are incurred.
  • Compare actual job expenses with estimates on an ongoing basis, investigate variances, and prepare analysis by project, customer, and service category.
  • Partner with operational leaders to confirm that labour, materials, subcontractor charges, and equipment usage are recorded correctly and assigned to the proper jobs.
  • Lead a small sales team by setting expectations, reviewing pipeline activity, and tracking revenue performance against forecast and budget targets.
  • Oversee pricing, quoting, invoicing, revenue recognition, and collections to support healthy cash flow and consistent financial accuracy.
  • Review bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, accruals, and closing entries, while contributing to month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare regular management reporting on margins, sales results, cash position, and process improvement opportunities, and coach direct reports across billing and sales functions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or transformation leadership roles with responsibility for costing, reporting, and revenue oversight.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of job costing, project costing, budgeting, revenue analysis, and company revenue recognition practices, including deferred revenue concepts.
  • Experience leading or supervising cross-functional teams in areas such as sales support, billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting activities, including reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, accruals, and period-end close procedures.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and financial reporting processes, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
  • Skilled in identifying margin risks, resolving billing discrepancies, and improving financial controls and workflow efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with confidence working closely with leadership, sales, and operations teams.
