JLP Services Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Field Supervisor. JLP currently provides a range of Geotechnical Services, including but not limited to: Materials Testing and Inspection, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Shoring Excavation and Monitoring and Foundation Recommendations. Please note that position requires a minimum of 5 years of local southwestern Ontario experience.
Role Responsibilities:
- Inspection, material testing and sampling for a wide variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental consulting projects involving small and large earthwork projects.
- The work involves geotechnical and environmental sampling, soil testing, compaction testing using nuclear density gauge, subgrade inspections, rebar inspections, concrete testing and lab testing and construction inspection.
- Additionally, the Senior Geotechnical Supervisor will oversee training, leading and a team of field technicians.
Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering diploma, preferably with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- CCIL Certifications in concrete required.
Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability.
- An understanding of materials testing and inspection, road reconstruction, rebar inspection and general construction practices.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science or Civil Engineering.
