  • Provide guidance on embodied carbon, operational energy/carbon, construction site emissions, climate risk and resiliency, and sustainability certification systems as they relate to project delivery.
  • Support project start‑up activities and tracking processes to help teams manage sustainability commitments and addressing delivery challenges.
  • Support pursuit teams by helping define credible sustainability approaches that reflect both client expectations and construction realities.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives and support the implementation of EllisDon’s Corporate Climate Change Strategy, including emissions tracking and reporting at both corporate and project levels.
  • Work with business units to develop and scale practical solutions, tools, and approaches that reduce emissions and improve sustainability outcomes across projects and construction operations.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and leadership to build alignment around sustainability practices, using strong relationship‑building and persuasion skills to help teams adopt practical sustainability practices within project delivery.
  • Represent EllisDon at industry events and stay current on industry standards, regulations, and emerging practices in sustainable construction.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have 5‑8 years’ experience integrating sustainability into the built environment, ideally within design, construction, or building operations.
  • You have post‑secondary education in Engineering, Architecture, or a related design/construction discipline.
  • Experience in Institutional or Commercial construction and/or a Project Manager role is considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with sustainability frameworks such as Toronto Green Standard, LEED, WELL, Envision, and Zero Carbon Building Certification, and understand carbon accounting or emissions tracking concepts.
  • You are comfortable working across multiple projects and teams, translating evolving sustainability requirements into practical actions, while communicating complex ideas clearly.
  • You are skilled at influencing and guiding teams, helping stakeholders with different priorities align on practical solutions that support both project delivery and sustainability outcomes.
  • You are willing to travel within Canada based on project needs.
