We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer. Join a specialized engineering team supporting complex, custom-designed nuclear equipment in a regulated environment. This is a chance to apply deep analytical expertise to modern Small Modular Reactor and first-of-a-kind projects, including U.S.-based work. The team has grown quickly and is largely early-career, so your technical judgment, review skills and mentorship will have a direct and visible impact. You will work closely with a design and manufacturing group, and you will see equipment through its full lifecycle, from concept to testing and service.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Perform specialized engineering analysis, pressure boundary work and numerical calculations supporting complex nuclear equipment and projects.
- Use ANSYS for finite element analysis, AutoPIPE and CAESAR II for piping stress analysis, and specialized tools for radiation and flow calculations, depending on the assignment.
- Review and approve junior engineers' deliverables, provide practical technical guidance and help develop their capabilities.
- Prepare clear calculations, technical reports and supporting engineering documentation, with assumptions and results documented and traceable.
- Collaborate closely with the design team on concept and mechanism design, drawings and manufacturing coordination.
- Take part in client site visits, equipment walk-downs, shop floor testing and troubleshooting as needed.
- Learn and apply company procedures, progressing from supervised assignments to independent, complex analysis work.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current P.Eng. designation, with Ontario registration required for senior review and approval responsibilities.
- Approximately 5 to 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, with the ability to provide experienced technical support.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong engineering analysis, numerical calculation and pressure boundary or mechanical analysis experience.
- Hands-on experience with ANSYS, AutoPIPE and/or CAESAR II.
- Ability to make independent, defensible engineering decisions and document them clearly.
- Ability to review and approve junior engineers' work and provide constructive guidance.
- Strong technical writing, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to successfully complete background checks, P.Eng. verification and applicable export-control screening and authorization, including U.S. citizenship verification for U.S. project work.
- Ability to work onsite five days per week.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in nuclear, energy, aerospace, defence, heavy equipment or other regulated engineering environments.
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers.
- Experience with radiation and flow calculations.
- Familiarity with equipment walk-downs, shop floor testing and troubleshooting.
