Are you Ready to Build the Future of AI Infrastructure? If you’re energized by massive scale, deep technical complexity, and the opportunity to shape the next era of compute, this is your moment. Join a team where groundbreaking work meets competitive compensation, meaningful impact, and a chance to accelerate your career at the forefront of AI innovation.
This position is based on-site in Canal Flats, BC, supporting the construction of a 30 MW liquid-cooled AI data center campus. It is a camp-based role working a 14 days on / 7 days off (14&7) rotation in support of the project’s 24-hour, two-crew (A/B) construction schedule. Camp accommodations, meals, and site transportation are provided during on-rotation periods.
The Construction Superintendent – Mechanical owns all mechanical construction activities on a greenfield 30 MW liquid-cooled AI data center campus. Our facilities are, at their core, power and cooling projects with a building around them, and this role leads the cooling side: ensuring mechanical systems are installed, tested, flushed, and commissioned to meet project requirements, industry standards, and operational reliability demands. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you’ll direct mechanical General Foremen across day and night crews and collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to drive quality, safety, and efficiency across the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Project Oversight: Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of all mechanical construction activities: chilled water plants, liquid cooling loops, CDUs, cooling towers, pumps, hydronic piping, and HVAC systems.
- Technical Leadership: Review and interpret mechanical design documents, P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment schedules, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry best practices.
- Trade Supervision: Directly lead pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, insulation, and millwright trades through your General Foremen, enforcing schedule, quality, and safety day-to-day on site across both crews.
- Coordination: Interface with the Electrical, Civil, and IT/Network teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with power distribution and data center operations.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality installation.
- Commissioning & Testing: Oversee pressure testing, flushing, chemical treatment, air balancing, start-up, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring reliability and uptime targets are met through structured turnover.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all mechanical work adheres to CSA B51, ASME B31, NFPA, and local codes, as well as internal safety and quality standards. Own the site safety record for your scope.
- Scheduling & Budget Control: Track progress and manage schedules to ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and timeline.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to mechanical infrastructure, redundancy, and system reliability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear daily and weekly updates to project leadership on progress, manpower, challenges, and solutions.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction management on heavy industrial or mission-critical projects (data centers, LNG, power generation, mining, petrochemical, or similar), including at least 3 years in a superintendent or senior field leadership role.
- Proven track record managing large-scale mechanical scopes from installation through commissioning, with direct site authority over multi-trade crews.
- Strong understanding of chilled water systems, liquid cooling technologies, pumps, cooling towers, hydronic piping, HVAC, and mechanical redundancy concepts.
- Hands-on commissioning experience: pressure testing, flushing, system walkdowns, punch, RFSU, and structured turnover.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CSA B51, ASME B31, NFPA, BC Building Code).
- Red Seal trade certification (Steamfitter/Pipefitter, Plumber, Millwright, Sheet Metal, or Refrigeration Mechanic), engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple contractors and align them to project goals.
- Ability to work on-site in Canal Flats, BC on a 14&7 camp rotation, including night shift coverage as the project ramps; camp/remote-site experience an asset.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in data center construction and commissioning, or comparable MEP-dense environments.
- Welding or pressure-piping inspection certification (e.g., CWB) or equivalent.
- Experience with structured completions platforms (e.g., Smart Completions) and turnover of tagged systems.
- PMP certification or Gold Seal designation an asset.

- Work with state-of-the-art AI hardware and some of the most advanced compute systems in the world.
- Be part of a team that values innovation, autonomy, and continuous learning.
- Make a measurable impact on the performance and reliability of global AI workloads.
