We invest funds for the pension plans of the federal public service, the Canadian Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Reserve Force. Headquartered in Ottawa, PSP Investments has its principal business office in Montréal and offices in New York, London and Hong Kong. Capturing and leading complex global investments requires us to work as one to seize valuable opportunities, in close collaboration with some of the world's top companies. At PSP Investments, you'll join a team of motivated and engaged professionals, dedicated to propelling our organization further than ever before.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As an Advisor, Corporate Strategy, you'll:

  • Contribute to PSP's long-term strategy by developing and rolling out the strategic plan across the organization, tracking key performance indicators and high-level targets, and monitoring peers and changes in our investment environment.
  • Build and maintain a transversal view of PSP, spanning the investment groups and the support functions, to surface interdependencies, trade-offs and priorities that inform strategic choices.
  • Participate directly in the execution of our strategy by contributing insights and analysis that drive decision-making across key corporate initiatives.
  • Support the execution and improvement of the annual Business Planning cycle that aligns the organization with its longer-term strategy, including contributing to the corporate and group business plan documents.
  • Manage assigned projects and workstreams end to end (scope, timelines, stakeholders, deliverables) and assist in the ongoing governance of PSP's Portfolio of Strategic Initiatives.
  • Write and develop strategy narratives, memos and presentations intended for senior executives, the Board of Directors and other leaders of the organization.
  • Use AI tools and digital techniques to accelerate research, analysis, synthesis and drafting, and help the team raise the way it works.
  • Support the team in the planning and execution of PSP's strategic offsites (Board of Directors, Senior Leadership).
  • Participate in the execution of special projects and additional team priorities.
  • Be a positive ambassador for the team across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience in areas such as consulting, corporate strategy or planning, or investment management. Appointment at the Advisor or Manager level will be based on the candidate's experience. Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in a relevant field or MBA, an asset. Intellectual curiosity: you want to understand how PSP, its asset classes and the markets it operates in really work, you ask 'why' and 'what if', and you learn quickly in unfamiliar territory. Ability to develop a transversal view of the organization, including the investment groups and the support functions, and to connect strategy, portfolio, operations and talent into one coherent picture. Comfort with technology and strong, practical command of AI tools (e.g. generative AI assistants) to research, analyze, draft and automate, with sound judgment on quality, confidentiality and limits. Demonstrated analytical skills; able to synthesize data and 'connect the dots' into clear insights and recommendations. Excellent writing skills: able to build a structured, concise and persuasive argument for senior executives and the Board, and to turn complex material into a clear storyline. PowerPoint skills at a consulting level: able to build executive-ready decks with a strong storyline, clean visuals and high attention to detail, quickly; advanced knowledge of Excel. Project management skills: able to plan and run several workstreams in parallel, manage timelines, dependencies and risks, and deliver on time with multiple senior stakeholders. Ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity in a high-performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines in a hybrid work environment. Ability to work collaboratively, influence without authority and cultivate meaningful relationships with colleagues at all levels; sound judgment and discretion with confidential information. Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing; strong spoken and written English, and working knowledge of French an asset. Considered an asset: relevant certifications (CFA), relevant experience in the industry, previous internship experience at PSP.
