Lead clinical excellence and patient-centred care as Medical Director at Vernon Silver Star UPCC, supporting urgent and primary care services.
Reporting to the Senior Medical Director, this physician leadership role works with operational leaders, clinicians, First Nations partners, and community partners. The Medical Director advances quality outcomes, team-based care, and organizational priorities within Interior Health. Regular clinical service at the UPCC remains part of the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership for medical services and team-based care
- Develop and evaluate clinical standards, protocols, and policies
- Champion quality improvement, patient safety, and program evaluation
- Support timely access and reduce avoidable emergency department visits
- Maintain clinical practice at Vernon Silver Star UPCC
Requirements:
- Participating physician in the UPCC group service contract
- Fulfill CPSBC requirements for multi-registrant clinic settings
- Provide supervision for physicians with provisional licensure
- Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical team members
- Attend leadership, team development, and educational activities
