Locum Obstetrician-Gynecologist — Kelowna General Hospital
Short- and long-term opportunities
Enjoy time in the heart of the Okanagan, where spectacular scenery, skiing, boating, orchards and vineyards are part of everyday life.
Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) serves one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities. Our group of ten generalist Obstetrician-Gynecologists is seeking FRCSC-qualified general Ob/Gyns for short- or long-term locum coverage for our established physicians. There may also be an opportunity for a permanent full-time position in the future.
KGH is a Tier 4 referral centre providing consultative obstetrics and emergency gynecology, with approximately 1,800 deliveries annually and neonatal care from 30 weeks’ gestation. Family physicians and midwives provide primary obstetrical care, with high-risk patients managed through a shared-care model. On-site services include in-house anesthesia, interventional radiology and a comprehensive range of surgical subspecialties.
Our busy surgical practice includes advanced laparoscopy and urogynecology, supported by a state-of-the-art surgical tower and a nurse-led conscious sedation suite for minor procedures.
KGH is home to UBC’s Southern Medical Program. Our department teaches medical students, family medicine and off-service residents, and senior UBC Ob/Gyn residents.
Living in the Okanagan means enjoying four seasons, with summers on Okanagan Lake, local orchards and vineyards, and easy access to skiing at Big White and Silver Star. Kelowna International Airport provides convenient travel connections.
Whether you are available for a short locum or an extended stay, we would be pleased to discuss dates and coverage opportunities.
